’26 Toyota Land Cruiser Gets Premium SunTek Ultra PPF and Feynlab Ceramic Coating in Wilmington NC

August 12, 2026

This build focused on premium protection with Land Cruiser SunTek Ultra PPF paired with multiple ceramic coatings for complete surface coverage. The brand new 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser is one of those vehicles that deserves real protection from day one. This owner understood how quickly road debris, UV exposure, and daily wear can take a toll, especially on a vehicle designed to last decades. Their goal was simple: preserve the Land Cruiser’s finish while enhancing gloss and long term durability using SunTek Ultra Paint Protection Film, Feynlab Ceramic Coatings, and IGL Trim ceramic coating on the extensive exterior plastic.

This was not a basic in and out job. The Land Cruiser arrived in deep solid black paint, which shows absolutely everything. On top of that, it has a huge amount of exterior plastic trim that can fade, chalk, and turn grey if it is left unprotected. And the hood is easily one of the most complex panels Toyota has put on an SUV. Sharp transitions, steep drop offs, large surface area, and tension points everywhere. That makes it a perfect canvas for a master level PPF and ceramic build and a nightmare for anyone cutting corners.

Here is how we protected it the right way.

SunTek PPF Coverage on the Land Cruiser

We installed SunTek Ultra PPF across the highest impact zones of the Land Cruiser:

  • Full Hood
  • Full Fenders
  • A Pillars
  • Headlights
  • Foglights
  • Marker Lights

SunTek Ultra is a premium grade film with incredible clarity, a self healing top coat, and strong hydrophobic performance. On deep black paint, clarity matters. Anything less and the finish looks muted or uneven. Ultra keeps the paint looking sharp, reflective, and fully protected.

The Hood: One of the Most Difficult Toyota Installs on the Market

The 2026 Land Cruiser hood is notorious in installer circles. Its steep drop offs and complex geometry demand slow methodical stretching and perfect alignment. Pair that with solid black paint, where the smallest imperfection is practically spotlighted, and you get one of the industry’s most challenging PPF installations.

This is where precision matters. Low skill installers leave tension marks, distortions, trapped debris, misaligned edges, or visible seams. Our approach is different. We bulk install with tight control over stretch, anchor points, moisture levels, and squeegee paths. The result is a factory smooth finish that even seasoned installers would respect.

Why We Used Different Coatings on Film, Paint and Trim

Ceramic coating is not a one bottle fits all situation. The surfaces on this Land Cruiser all behave differently. Film, clear coat, and textured plastic each demand specific chemistry if you want ultra premium performance.

For this build we used:

  • Feynlab V3 PPF on all SunTek Ultra film
  • Feynlab Ceramic V3 on all exposed painted panels
  • IGL Trim on the exterior plastic trim

Feynlab products are engineered for high performance and are supported by warranty with Carfax registration when installed through our shop. Limitations apply. IGL Trim is a dedicated trim coating from IGL Coatings USA designed to lock in a rich factory look on exterior plastics.

Why SunTek PPF Needs a PPF Specific Coating

Paint Protection Film behaves very differently than clear coat. It is softer, more flexible, and expands and contracts with temperature changes. A coating that is too rigid can interfere with the film’s self healing or fail prematurely.

Feynlab V3 PPF is engineered for polyurethane film. It enhances gloss, repels dirt, protects from stains, and most importantly maintains the film’s natural properties. This ensures SunTek Ultra performs the way it was designed to while staying cleaner and glossier for years.

Why Paint Requires a Paint Specific Coating

Clear coat is harder, less flexible, and allows deeper chemical bonding. Feynlab Ceramic V3 is built for this structure. It maximizes UV defense, slickness, gloss, and washability while bonding deeply into the clear coat to provide long lasting protection.

All Feynlab coatings installed at our shop include product warranty and are registered with Carfax so the protection shows up in your vehicle history. Warranty limitations apply, as with any professional grade product.

Why Trim Gets Its Own Coating With IGL Trim

The 2026 Land Cruiser has a serious amount of exterior plastic trim. Unprotected, that trim will slowly fade, chalk, and lose its deep rich color from UV exposure and harsh cleaners. Dressings wash off, streak, and attract dust. That is not what you want on a truck built to last.

IGL Trim is a dedicated ceramic coating designed specifically for exterior plastics. When applied correctly, it restores and locks in a dark factory correct look and adds UV protection to slow fading. The coating used on this Land Cruiser is a two year rated trim coating, which means the plastic is not relying on temporary dressings. It is protected by a real ceramic layer designed to hold up to real world driving and washing.

Between SunTek Ultra on the impact zones, Feynlab Ceramic on the paint and PPF, and IGL Trim on the plastics, this Land Cruiser is protected across every major surface.

Why Premium SunTek PPF and Feynlab Ceramic Coating Protection Matters on a Land Cruiser

The Toyota Land Cruiser is not a short term ownership vehicle. It is a long term machine built for durability and reliability. Premium protection is not just cosmetic. It preserves value, reduces long term wear, and keeps the finish looking better for the next owner or the next decade.

Whether you keep the truck forever or decide to sell later, protected vehicles always win on value and appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. Does ceramic coating prevent swirls from automated car washes

No. Coating helps with cleaning and chemical resistance, but automated wash abrasion can still create swirl marks and scratches.

  • 2. Does paint protection film stop wash scratches completely

Nothing stops wear completely, but PPF is a sacrificial layer that significantly reduces how much abrasion reaches your paint.

  • 3. Why did the front end look better than the rest of the vehicle

The front end had SunTek Ultra film, so the film absorbed most of the wash induced damage instead of the paint.

  • 4. What is the difference between SunTek Ultra and SunTek PPF C

Ultra has a 10 year warranty and a hydrophobic top coat. PPF C has a 5 year warranty and no hydrophobic top coat. Both are self healing.

  • 5. Is SunTek PPF C a common option at SouthernStylez Tinting

No. PPF C is not typically a product we offer, but it is available in select and specific circumstances.

  • 6. If I keep using automated washes, what is the best long term protection

Full vehicle paint protection film is the most forgiving option for frequent automated wash owners because it adds physical protection across all panels.
